The process of this renovation seem a bit slow, right?

Now, let's buckle up and move forward the renovation stage.

After the hacking and demolition, things will go very fast.


After purchasing the items for the house, a good shopping trip thou, put on hold for all delivery first until it is time for them to deliver it over. You wouldn't want everything to come in at the wrong time because there is no where you to put your items safely!

The priority is getting the level one and wet area to be completed as soon as possible. So that, the rest of the contractor can move in without delaying the project.

Once the plastering is up, next come the painting, plumbing, false ceiling and electrician.

Coordinating different contractors are a big challenge, especially when you engage other party and not your designer side. Hiccups are bound to have, it is important the overall renovation completed with happiness and not anger against one another.

If there is unhappiness, it is a must to sound out because being able to communicate will make everyone communicate better.

Because hubby work as commercial photographer, he have more free time to check on the progress and making the workers feel comfortable so that it is easy to communicate with them in good terms.

So far, everyone are working fine and get along very well. It is a blessing for all.

Jiak Tok

This entry is almost forgotten, hence posting it right now. Jiak Tok is one of the common practice for most Chinese, especially to deity or during hungry ghost month. What is the main purpose for it? Basically, raise fund. Currently, the temple The Ongies often go, is still new and undergoing some renovations, that's where the devotees will come and chip in. Back then, Cait was just few months old when she first attend to such occasion. Now, Clar turn. During the period of bidding and consuming of food, both princesses are quite cooperative and did not fuss a lot until later on. Partly due to heat and noise. But it is a good experience for them. Praying to Tai Sui

It's the period of praying to Tai Sui now during Chinese New Year. Almost all Chinese will head up to temple to get blessing from Tai Sui . For those zodiac sign that crash with the year of Tai Sui must pray for smooth year. Every year, there will be 4 zodiac signs that crash with Year of Tai Sui . Chong is worse than Fan.  It is better to pray to Tai Sui every year; at least you get bless. When praying to Tai Sui , you must not forget to return thanks back before end of year; which is before Christmas Day,  after Dong Zhi . Cait and Clar will get bless as well, same goes to rest of the family. The usual place they often went is at Paya Lebar, Gu Cai Ba Temple (Sheng Hong Gong). You can go and pray after registering yourself; pray to the main altar, then to the 60 Tai Sui before queuing up for the toaist priest to chant. It will be a long queue if you go early or noon.
